Frequently Asked Questions
The lifespan of Halo Hair Australia extensions can vary depending on several factors unique to each individual client. Factors such as home care, maintenance routine, products used, heat styling, lifestyle, water quality, climate, and overall aftercare can all impact the longevity and performance of the hair over time.
The lifespan will also vary depending on the extension method chosen and how well ongoing maintenance appointments and aftercare recommendations are followed.
Our Virgin Wefts are designed for long-term wear (with maintenance pull ups) and can typically last approximately 9–12 months or longer with correct maintenance and care.
Our Halo Invisi Tapes are reusable and designed for ongoing maintenance appointments, with the lifespan of the hair varying depending on aftercare, maintenance, and reapplication. Maintenance is generally recommended every 6–8 weeks depending on natural hair growth and home care.
With Keratin Bonds we recommend single use only for this range. Maintenance and wear time will vary depending on the client and application, though after install they are generally worn for approximately 3–5 months before removal and replacement is recommended.
To maximise the lifespan of your extensions, we strongly recommend:
Using salon-quality, sulfate-free products
Avoiding excessive heat exposure
Attending regular maintenance appointments
Following all recommended aftercare guidelines.
Using extension-safe brushes and styling techniques.
With proper care and maintenance, your extensions will continue to maintain their softness, movement, colour, and overall performance for as long as possible.
Maintenance schedules vary depending on the extension method, natural hair growth, and lifestyle.
As a general guide:
Invisi Tapes: every 6–8 weeks
Wefts: approximately 6–8 weeks
Keratin Bonds: generally worn 3–5 months before removal.
Your stylist will recommend the most suitable maintenance schedule for you.
Absolutely. When correctly installed, extensions should blend naturally and allow for versatile styling including ponytails, buns, waves, and upstyles.
Some methods may offer more flexibility than others depending on placement, hairstyle preference and your natural hair type and density.
Talk to your stylist during your consultation or prior install and let them know your preferences so they can help offer you the best solution for your hair and individual needs.
Yes, our hair ranges can be toned or coloured by a professional if needed, however we always recommend colour matching as closely as possible prior to installation.
We do not recommend lightening or bleaching extensions, as this may impact the integrity and lifespan of the hair.
As all colouring results can vary, any chemical processing is done at the stylist or client’s discretion.
Please note that colouring, bleaching, perming, chemical processing, or misuse of purple shampoo may compromise the integrity and longevity of the hair. As results can vary significantly with chemical services, this will void any quality guarantee, warranty, refund, exchange, or replacement eligibility.
